Fifteen years ago, the four of us sat around the table after evening dinner. We'd been talking, and almost simultaneously began to sing, "Lord prepare me, to be a sanctuary..." in harmony. The few years leading up to that night had been bleak and stormy, to say the least, leaving us wondering if we'd ever sing again. That simple song of faith around the dinner table sparked a flame of hope: the Lord still intended to use our voices together for His glory.
It was a slow start, with no accompaniment but our own voices (and a few background tapes) until instruments were added a number of years later. We're still known today for our acapella arrangements- what was once a necessity is now a trademark!
Angela began songwriting in the time after high school. Taking a year at college, she studied songwriting along with studio recording, music theory and missions, wrapping up her time there by completing a six-song demo. Not long after she recorded and released "Grace Child," and, two years later, "Hope for Sure," both featuring her songwriting and lead vocals.
In December 2006 all four of us released "Christmas," and not long after that began work on "Songs," a collection of time-tested favourites we had been singing as a family from the beginning.
In whatever form it comes, our desire for our music is that it would paint a picture of the hope we have found in Christ Jesus. He is our steady anchor through all of life's stormy blasts. May we sing of His great name to our last breath, for "from Him, through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen" (Romans 11:36).
